STANDARD LICENSE OVERVIEW

Our Brand License (formerly named Desktop License) is the core license and is required for anyone who installs and uses our fonts for both digital and printed materials, including static images, video content, brochures, catalogs, and similar assets for a single brand. If you’re using the font to represent your brand visually, this is the license you need. This also includes usage in video content on platforms like YouTube. Unlike traditional user-based models, our Brand License is based on your company size, not the number of people installing the font. That’s because the font doesn’t just sit on a designer’s computer. It shapes how your entire brand is seen by the world. A brand with 500 employees gets more value and visibility from the font than a small start-up with two people, and our pricing reflects that. In our licensing model, anyone who installs and uses the font for their own projects is considered a “brand”, whether you’re a designer, freelancer, studio, agency, or company.

You can install the font on all your devices within the licensed brand without limits. If your external agency or freelancer also needs access, you might look into a Subcontractor License or ask them to get their own brand license.

If you are working as a brand with external designers, freelancers, agencies, or production partners who need to install and use our fonts for your brand, you will need a Subcontractor License. This ensures that everyone involved in the project is properly licensed, without requiring them to purchase their own Brand License. You can purchase this license directly through our web store or include it as part of a custom license agreement. It allows your external partners to install and use the fonts specifically for your brand’s projects. They can create layouts, brand assets, and final deliverables under your license, without any additional cost to them. The Subcontractor License only applies to work related to your brand. Once the project is complete, your subcontractors must delete all copies of the font files. They are not allowed to use the fonts for other clients, future projects, or personal work unless they obtain a separate license.

If you prefer, your partners can also purchase their own Brand License instead. In either case, you as the license holder are responsible for making sure that everyone using the fonts on your behalf is properly licensed.

If you want to embed and self-host our fonts on your website, you’ll need a Web License. This allows you to integrate the fonts using the @font-face method in your CSS, giving you full control over how the fonts appear on your site. The Web License is measured by the monthly page views of your website. This ensures that the license cost fairly reflects the scale of your online presence. Each Web License covers one domain. If you plan to use the fonts on additional domains, you’ll need a separate Web License for each or contact us for a custom offer. Subdomains (like shop.example.com) are typically included under the main domain, but if you’re unsure, feel free to check with us.

It’s important to remember that the Web License only covers embedding the font on your website. If you’re also using the fonts to design website graphics, banners, or logos, you’ll still need additional Licenses for these cases. In any case a brand license is needed.

If you use our fonts to create content for your social media platforms, you will need a Social Media License. This includes all major platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others where your brand shares content. The license is based on the total number of followers across all your platforms combined. That way, it reflects the scale and reach of your brand’s online presence. This license covers font use in posts, stories, and video content. However, if you are also using the font for your logo, packaging, or printed materials, you will also need a Brand License.

If you’re also using the fonts for your logo, packaging, or printed materials, you’ll still need additional Licenses for these cases. In any case a brand license is needed.

If you want to use one of our fonts in a logo or wordmark, you will need a Logo License. This license allows you to design and use a logo for a single brand using our fonts. You can modify the fonts as needed by converting them to outlines in tools like Illustrator or Photoshop to customize your design. The Logo License covers brand elements such as logos, wordmarks, taglines, monograms, symbols, and similar visual identifiers. However, it is limited to logo usage.

If you’re also using the fonts in packaging, social media content, presentations, or other materials, you’ll still need additional Licenses for these cases. In any case a brand license is needed.
